Rescue and Adoption
There are many stray animals living on the streets, curled up in back alleys and crevices for shelter, or sniffing through garbage for food. They are abandoned, alone, and in many cases, seriously hurt.
Thankfully, with the help of our Animal Angels—compassionate folks who actively help animals in need—we are able to answer the call to rescue an animal that may be sick or injured. These may be dogs, cats, horses, pigs… an animal in need is not ignored.
TOGETHER we can care!
We encourage adopting our “hooligans”—a playful term we call our rescued dogs to depict their strength and determination to survive. We have a thorough adoption procedure to ensure our rescues will live out the rest of their lives in well-fed comfort and security.

Spay and Neuter
Spaying (for female dogs) and neutering (for male dogs) is one of our most important missions.
Unwanted and stray dogs are one of the most major concerns in Jamaica, presently. This often leads to unfortunate incidents that hurt both humans and animals.
Every other year we try to have a free Spay and Neuter clinic in a community that needs it most. We do this in conjunction with local and international vets, as well as many volunteers to assist.
Our vets, partners, and generous donors make this possible.
Through education on the short and long-term benefits of spaying and neutering, we hope to see an overall decrease in the stray population in Jamaica. We hope to increase the frequency of these free clinics once we are in a position to be able to afford it.

Feeding Stations
We have set up feeding stations in various spots across the island with a heavy homeless dog population. These dogs, oftentimes exposed to abuse from the general population, shy away from human contact.
With these feeding stations, we are able to keep them fed. Once trust is established, we can also spay/neuter and deworm them regularly.

Education
MBAH takes pride in teaching responsible and compassionate pet ownership to the next generation.
We visit schools and keep an active presence online to demonstrate the current-day situation of these animals. At the same time, we highlight several ways the community and young people can get involved.
Through our educational efforts we hope to:

Through our educational efforts we hope to:
- help others develop a natural love for animals. (We love having our star rescues accompany us for this task!)
- teach the general populace responsible and compassionate animal ownership, whether they see their animals as a member of the family or as a “guard dog,” and
- identify the ways having a pet is instrumental to improving mental health.
