We are very lucky to have so many great volunteers here in Jamaica! One of our Animal Angels, NAT, has written a blog and began 3 fundraising campaigns for the MBAH. Check out her blog post here natonamap.com/2020/01/19/charity-showcase-where-it-all-began-montego-bay-animal-haven/

Its been a VERY busy time for us here... we've taken on some new volunteers to help with Social Media and have an additional pair of boots on the ground in Montego Bay. Welcome to Sue, Kiara and Jacquie!!! Some things we are working on are:
Here is a link to an article in the Jamaican Observer (March 17, 2022) in which they interviewed Tammy about how the war in Ukraine affects Animal rescues. www.jamaicaobserver.com/news/russia-ukraine-war-puts-migration-of-j-can-mongrels-on-back-burner_246488 Check out this Loop article about one of the dogs we sent to Canada! jamaica.loopnews.com/content/remember-street-dog-pauline-meet-her-canadian-family-589553?fbclid=IwAR0ObVFJx8iFNreEv0k8I-Pk-EUhmU3fxClKjpF8ye3dffrZCxUquD64FeY On December 28th, MBAH started receiving posts about a horse in need of help at Draxhall. We posted pics of the sweet girl on social media to bring attention to her plight and to "hopefully" get some help. As a result of MBAH NOT being recognized as a SHELTER (even though the JSPCA calls us for help) , we could not just pick the horse up. We called the St. Ann Police, and a vet and looked for the "owner". We finally got our vet from North Coast Vet Clinic to check if he was well enough to travel. Once we established he was, the St. Ann's Police were called to oversee the rescue. He was moved to a safe location, given food and water. After that day - he was moved to a longer term location and had his wounds worked on. His name is Alfie and Tammy says he is one of the most grateful horses she's ever met. Enjoy the pics posted below - be aware though some pics of the wounds are GRAPHIC. As you may know we took in some animals that were rescued from the Jamaica cult tragedy. The animals we did take in- Pigs, Cows and Dogs - are all flourishing. The other animals we did help place were exotic birds (LOTS), and chickens. Here are 3 videos of some of the animals we have in our care!
